About Us

Lucy Connelly Web Design was founded by Lucy Connelly in January 2002. Since that time the business has grown through word of mouth recommendation.

Our customers are mostly small businesses and the self-employed. We try to understand our customers' business needs before making any recommendations about a website. We don't want to just sell you a website - we want to make sure that we're providing the right solution for you and your business, whether large or small.

We work closely with our customers to make sure that they are completely satisfied with their websites. As a result of this, most of our customers come back regularly for updates and other work, and many of our customers have recommended us to other businesses who have also become our customers.

Lucy Connelly

Lucy Connelly gained a degree in Electronic & Computer Engineering from the University of Birmingham before starting work with Davy McKee, first as a commissioning engineer and subsequently as a software engineer. She continued her career as a software engineer at Marconi, where she worked on human interfaces, and developed an interest in human-computer interaction (HCI) and useability.

After deciding to move into web design in 2001, her background as a software engineer was invaluable in learning HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Perl, PHP, and MySQL. She started Lucy Connelly Web Design in January 2002. Since 2006 she has also been using the open-source content management system Drupal, and much of her recent work has involved customisation of Drupal themes and modules in PHP.

Lucy is a Member of the Institution of Engineering Technology (MIET).
