Beautiful PotsWebsite Address: The Customer: Peter Critchley has been collecting pottery and porcelain for many years. He wanted to share some of his knowledge with other people who find antique porcelain beautiful, so he wrote a book, "A Collectors Guide to British Porcelain", with a particular emphasis on affordable collectables. The Website: The website was created to promote and sell Peter's book, by providing a taster of the information available in the book. The website also includes details of a few items from Peter's collection which are representative of British porcelain between 1760 and 1875. Finally, the website includes PayPal buttons to make it easier for customers to buy the book online. Creative Retail Solutions LtdWebsite Address: The Customer: Creative Retail Solutions Ltd supply food display and refrigeration equipment to the catering industry, including serve-over counters, shelving, cold-rooms and air-conditioning. As well as the supply of equipment, they also provide a full design, project management and installation service. Their customers range from high-street butchers to department store food halls to cafes and restaurants. The Website: CRS first came to Lucy Connelly Web Design in 2004 with the message, "I was wanting to create a very simple web site and was wondering if you could help." Since then, their business has grown enormously, and so has their website. Every 6 months or so, the website has been updated with new information on the products and services which CRS supply, as well as descriptions of the latest projects which CRS have undertaken. The website currently numbers close to 120 pages. It is the brainchild of Peter May, author of 6 books on water gardening, and one of the most prolific writers for water garden magazines, with over 22 years associated with the water garden and landscaping industry. The Website: WaterGardenerMagazine.com is probably our biggest website. It is based on an open-source content management system, which allows Peter to edit it himself once the initial setup has been done. It currently contains over 60 articles, around 100 news stories, directories of retailers and plants, a gallery of over 100 photographs and sketches, a forum where users can discuss their water garden problems and ideas and get advice, and an online shop. It also serves adverts which bring in revenue for the owner. Comments on the Website: "Well done Lucy, you're brilliant" - PM "I'm overwhelmed. Its brilliant... Thanks again" - PM LyricaWebsite Address: The Customer: Lyrica is an ensemble of professional female singers available to sing individually or in small or large groups at concerts, weddings, receptions and other events. Lyrica is directed by Proms soloist Elizabeth Glen GGSM. The Website: Lyrica was one of our first customers, and its website has grown over the years. Originally just a simple brochure site, it is now a fully database-driven site, based on an open-source content management system. This allows the director Elizabeth to edit profiles and playlists, add music samples and concert dates, and set up links to related businesses. Baker St Hair & BeautyWebsite Address: The Customer: Baker St Hair & Beauty are hairdressers and beauty therapists with salons in Southbourne and New Milton. They provide services such as hair, makeup, tanning, skincare and wedding packages. The Website: The website acts as a showcase and up-to-date price list for the services provided at the two salons. To spice up the pages a little, the owner requested that we add a little animation, so some elements of the website are animated. Comments on the Website: "It's looking really good" - GB |
